The Bently Nevada 3500/45 Position Monitor is a four-channel machinery protection module within the 3500 Series Machinery Protection System.
This model, consisting of front module 140072-02 and rear I/O module 140072-04, measures and monitors the axial and radial position of rotating shafts using Proximitor® proximity probes or compatible eddy-current displacement sensors.
The 3500/45 continuously processes both static (DC) and dynamic (AC) components of the input signal. The DC signal indicates the shaft’s average position relative to the bearing or thrust collar, while the AC component represents vibration.
By comparing these values against configurable Alert and Danger setpoints, the module provides real-time protection and condition-monitoring data to the overall 3500 rack system.
It is widely used in turbines, compressors, pumps, motors, and generators, where precision shaft-position measurement is essential for reliability and mechanical integrity.
