The Bently Nevada 3500/50M Tachometer Module (288062-02) is a dual-channel monitoring module used in the Bently Nevada 3500 Series Machinery Protection System. It measures shaft rotational speed, zero speed, reverse rotation, and rotor acceleration using proximity probes or magnetic pickups. Each channel can be configured independently to perform multiple monitoring and alarm functions.
The module provides a conditioned Keyphasor® output via the system backplane, enabling synchronization with other monitoring modules such as vibration or phase reference systems.
When paired with the 136703-01 Internal Barrier I/O Module, the system becomes suitable for hazardous-area applications, ensuring intrinsic safety by limiting energy transfer from the field wiring into the monitoring rack. This configuration is widely used in oil & gas, petrochemical, and power generation industries where hazardous conditions are present.
