2. What vibration measurements can the 70M303 perform?
The 70M303 can measure vibration acceleration and velocity-related parameters across three axes. The acceleration measurement range is up to 0–200 m/s² or 20 g, while the Z-axis acceleration frequency range extends from 5 Hz to 10 kHz and the X/Y axes cover 5 Hz to 4 kHz. Velocity measurements cover 5–1000 Hz with an amplitude range of 0–50 mm/s. The sensor can also provide acceleration waveforms and spectra, allowing engineers to perform more detailed vibration analysis instead of relying only on overall trend values.

3. Why is the tri-axial configuration of the 70M303 useful for machinery monitoring?
A tri-axial sensor measures vibration in three perpendicular directions, providing a more complete representation of machine vibration than a single-axis sensor. This is particularly useful when the dominant vibration direction is not known in advance or when machinery produces different vibration characteristics in different directions. 4. Can the 70M303 measure temperature as well as vibration?
Yes. The 70M303 includes an integral temperature sensor in addition to its tri-axial accelerometer. The temperature measurement range is specified from -40°C to 120°C, with a resolution of 0.1°C. Temperature trends can be used as supplementary information when evaluating machinery condition. For example, an increase in bearing or housing temperature occurring together with a change in vibration may provide additional evidence of a developing mechanical problem. 5. What wireless communication technology does the 70M303 use?
The 70M303 uses the ISA100.11a industrial wireless protocol and operates in the 2.45 GHz ISM frequency band using the IEEE 802.15.4 radio standard. Wireless communication is protected with 128-bit AES encryption. The sensor can be provisioned and configured through the wireless network, which simplifies deployment in locations where direct physical access is inconvenient. 6. How long can the 70M303 operate on its battery?
The sensor can operate for up to approximately five years depending on its operating mode and configuration. Actual battery life can vary according to measurement intervals, wireless communication activity, data collection requirements, environmental temperature and network conditions. The sensor uses a replaceable 3.6 V lithium-thionyl chloride battery. For permanently installed monitoring points, battery condition should be included in the preventive maintenance schedule. Replacing the battery before the end of its expected service period can reduce the possibility of unexpected data loss or wireless communication interruption.

7. How should the 70M303 be installed for accurate vibration monitoring?
The sensor should be mounted firmly on a mechanically stable surface that provides a representative vibration signal from the monitored machine. The mounting surface should be clean and free from looseness, excessive contamination or mechanical movement. Since the 70M303 measures three axes simultaneously, correct mounting orientation is still important when the monitoring application requires specific X, Y or Z directional analysis. The M6 × 1 mm mounting interface should be properly secured, and the sensor should not be installed on a flexible or structurally unstable surface. After installation, communication and initial vibration readings should be checked to confirm proper operation.

8. What should be checked if the 70M303 stops transmitting or reports abnormal vibration data?
Troubleshooting should begin by checking the battery condition and confirming that the sensor is powered. Next, verify that the device remains properly provisioned within the wireless network and that communication with the gateway is stable. If wireless communication is normal but vibration data appears abnormal, inspect the mounting connection, sensor orientation, measurement configuration and monitored machine condition. Changes to surrounding metal structures or machinery can also affect wireless communication.
