Honeywell recently held its inaugural China Growth Summit in Shanghai, bringing together more than 250 industry leaders, experts, and partners to explore innovation-driven growth pathways across automation, energy transition, and future aviation. The event marks a key milestone in strengthening the integration of global technologies with localized innovation in China.

The summit showcased Honeywell’s latest technologies across smart manufacturing, intelligent buildings, low-carbon solutions, and aviation systems, highlighting its continued investment in China’s digital and sustainable transformation. The company emphasized its commitment to enabling industrial upgrades through end-to-end automation and advanced digital technologies.

Honeywell’s industrial automation portfolio supports the transition from automated operations to autonomous industrial systems, helping enterprises improve efficiency, optimize processes, and enhance safety and workforce performance. In safety and environmental monitoring, Honeywell provides advanced gas detection solutions for industries such as marine, semiconductor, and solar energy. Its Honeywell Vertex VC4 toxic gas detector uses Chemcassette® technology to enable rapid and accurate detection of hazardous gas leaks, ensuring timely alerts and improved personnel safety.

In the energy sector, Honeywell’s Honeywell Protonium platform leverages artificial intelligence and machine learning to support green hydrogen production. The solution helps manage power variability, reduce carbon intensity, and lower production costs, accelerating the scale-up of clean energy deployment.

Honeywell China President Yufeng noted that 2025 marks the company’s 90th year in China. He emphasized that China remains one of Honeywell’s most important global markets, not only due to its scale but also because of its role as a major source of technological innovation. Despite slower economic growth, he highlighted China’s long-term contribution to global GDP and its continued transformation toward high-quality development.

He added that China’s strategic focus on new productive forces and low-carbon development aligns closely with Honeywell’s core businesses. The company aims to integrate automation, future aviation, and energy transition technologies with China’s growth priorities to drive impactful local innovation. He also pointed to China’s strong market resilience, innovation capability, and rapid development in digital economy and clean energy as key drivers of future opportunities for multinational companies.

Honeywell China Chief Technology Officer Shi Wei stated that innovation is a central reason for hosting the first China Growth Summit. He noted that China’s rapid technological advancement and strong talent base have created a powerful engine for industrial and technological transformation. He emphasized that failing to fully engage with China’s innovation ecosystem would represent a strategic missed opportunity.

In addition, Honeywell’s Shanghai Technology Experience Center—its second-largest globally—has been upgraded into a key innovation hub in China. Over the past year, it has hosted numerous events including product launches, industry forums, and academic-industry collaboration programs, strengthening ecosystem connectivity and supporting continuous local innovation.

The summit also featured the Honeywell Future Innovators Challenge and the China Innovation Talent Program, which has been held for four consecutive years. This year, the initiative received more than 480 innovation proposals spanning artificial intelligence applications, sustainable technologies, and advanced manufacturing. The program aims to foster internal innovation, accelerate technology commercialization, and promote sustainable industrial development.
