According to information from the National Intellectual Property Administration, ABB Ltd (Switzerland) has filed a patent for a “robot-assisted gripping device,” with publication number CN121666292A. The application date is August 2023.

The patent abstract describes a robot-assisted gripping device designed for picking and placing storage boxes. The device includes a frame configured to be mounted on the end effector of a robot, as well as multiple gripping units.

The gripping system consists of at least one first gripping unit installed on a first side of the frame. This unit is designed to grip a first side wall of the storage box. It also includes at least one second gripping unit installed on a second side of the frame, designed to grip the second side wall of the storage box.

In this structure, the first and second sides of the frame are non-opposing sides, and the corresponding side walls of the storage box are also non-opposing. This configuration enables stable handling and improved adaptability when manipulating storage containers in automated logistics or industrial environments.
