Some peripheral components used with earlier BRC controllers may remain compatible, but that does not mean different controller generations can be combined for redundancy. When upgrading an existing system, the controller, PBA, cables, firmware and system configuration should be checked separately.

6. What should be checked if the BRC300 cannot communicate with an I/O module?
Start by checking the BRC300 controller status and diagnostic indications to determine whether the controller itself is operating normally.
