On May 30, the five-day ABB Accelerator China Week ended in Shanghai. This industry event with the theme of “Embrace AI, Work with Honesty and Pursuit” attracted more than 6,000 industrial manufacturing and technology practitioners from all over the world to participate through offline and online platforms, focusing on the implementation of AI technology in industrial scenarios and the results of building an innovative ecosystem.
As a core link, the AI hackathon competition received a total of 347 AI innovation proposals from ABB’s global team, covering cutting-edge fields such as machine learning, computer vision, and natural language processing. After the preliminary screening, 20 teams focused on improving production efficiency and optimizing energy consumption. In the end, projects such as the equipment predictive maintenance system based on deep learning and the smart energy scheduling model combined with reinforcement learning showed the potential of AI in reducing production costs and promoting green manufacturing.
During the event, technical experts from 48 partners including Microsoft, China Telecom (8.030, -0.01, -0.12%), and Foxconn held in-depth discussions with ABB’s R&D team on topics such as “AI technology industrialization path” and “generative AI application in industrial scenarios.” Through the “enterprise + start-up company + university” collaborative innovation model built by the accelerator project, ABB reached 12 technical cooperation intentions on site, involving smart warehouse management, industrial Internet of Things data analysis and other fields. It is revealed that some high-quality proposals will enter ABB’s global innovation incubation system and receive technical support.
