The China Development High-Level Forum 2026 was held in Beijing from March 22 to 23 under the theme “China’s 15th Five-Year Plan: High-Quality Development and Co-Creating New Opportunities.” ABB Group President and CEO Morten Wierod attended the forum and delivered a keynote speech.

Wierod stated that as a global technology leader in electrification and automation, ABB is committed to supporting China’s industries in accelerating the green transition and achieving more sustainable development. He emphasized that ABB’s innovative technologies are making decarbonization more practical and economically viable across multiple industries and application areas.
He noted that the green transition will continue to be a core driver of key market demand, and ABB is contributing to this transformation through three main pathways.
First, improving operational efficiency. Through automation, high-efficiency motors and drives, and advanced industrial software, ABB helps customers achieve more output with fewer resources, reducing energy consumption, minimizing waste, and lowering overall operational costs.
Second, accelerating electrification. ABB technologies are enabling the transition toward a zero-emission future by supporting the wider adoption of clean and electrified systems across industries.
Third, ensuring safety and reliability. ABB solutions are designed to safeguard both environmental integrity and asset security, helping industries operate in a safer and more resilient manner.
Through these efforts, ABB continues to support global industries in advancing sustainable growth and building a more efficient and low-carbon future.
