ABB has introduced the 500 X, the newest addition to its digital and analog pH/ORP sensor portfolio. The model continues ABB’s color-coded design system, enabling faster selection of sensors suited to specific industrial conditions.

According to ABB’s Continuous Water Analytics Global Product Manager Nik Siwek, the 500 X is built on more than 70 years of pH/ORP measurement expertise and the company’s well-established TB series. It adds enhanced digital capabilities while retaining the durability of its predecessor. Designed for harsh industrial environments, the sensor combines rugged construction with digital connectivity to reduce operating and maintenance costs and improve process stability.

The 500 series, including 500 X and 500 PRO, uses ABB’s most robust electrodes and is engineered for high-pressure, high-temperature, and heavily contaminated applications in industrial and marine environments.

ABB also offers the 100 series (100E, 100GP, 100 ULTRA), designed for general applications such as drinking water, wastewater, irrigation, aquaculture, environmental monitoring, and boiler corrosion control.

The 700 series (700 ULTRA) is designed for specialized applications requiring high precision, including ultra-low conductivity measurements using refillable electrolyte technology.

ABB continues to expand its portfolio of electrical and automation technologies to support more sustainable and efficient industrial operations. By combining engineering expertise with digital innovation, ABB helps industries improve energy efficiency, productivity, and sustainability. The company has more than 140 years of history and approximately 110,000 employees worldwide, and is listed on the Swiss and Stockholm stock exchanges.

ABB’s automation business provides solutions in electrification, automation, and digitalization across energy, water, materials, manufacturing, and transport sectors. With around 26,000 employees, ABB Automation supports process, hybrid, and marine industries in achieving more efficient and cleaner operations.
