According to Honeywell Greater China President Yu Feng, the company’s Tianjin facilities are advancing green factory development through a comprehensive approach covering land-use efficiency, clean production processes, non-toxic materials, waste recycling, and low-carbon energy (850101) management.

A key highlight is the deployment of a Smart Building Energy Management System (BeMS). Through a network of sensors (885946), the system collects real-time data on energy consumption, including electricity, water, and heating/cooling flows. The data is uploaded to a centralized platform for continuous monitoring and control.

The system enables Honeywell to identify energy waste, detect inefficient equipment, and generate optimization recommendations, helping reduce both energy consumption and operational costs. After implementation, electricity usage at the Tianjin plant decreased by approximately 122,800 kWh year-over-year, a 5% reduction, equivalent to cutting around 86 tons of carbon emissions.

Beyond energy optimization, the Tianjin facilities have also implemented upgrades across intelligent lighting systems, smart power sockets, heating and cooling systems, rainwater recycling, and water-saving devices to minimize resource waste and improve sustainability performance.

Yu Feng noted that across R&D, production, and delivery processes, the factories continuously optimize product design and manufacturing workflows. These improvements ensure material usage is minimized while maintaining product quality and functionality, enabling systematic progress toward energy efficiency and carbon reduction goals.
