According to information from the Tianjin Economic-Technological Development Area (TEDA), a front-page report in Tianjin Daily highlights that Honeywell’s two companies in the zone have been operating for 30 years and have grown into a comprehensive innovation base with more than 40 production lines and annual output valued at hundreds of millions of dollars. The site has become a core manufacturing hub in China and a global innovation engine.

Yu Feng, President of Honeywell Greater China, stated that since entering Tianjin in the 1990s, the region’s strong industrial ecosystem, efficient logistics network, and innovation-driven government services have provided solid support for long-term growth. Today, the Tianjin facility has built a complete industrial ecosystem covering smart buildings and industrial automation.

The site has evolved from a traditional manufacturing base into an integrated center combining R&D, production, sales, and services, representing a key implementation of Honeywell’s “East for East” strategy. Its production system integrates robotics, automated guided vehicles (AGVs), cloud computing, and industrial IoT technologies, enabling a transformation from traditional manufacturing to intelligent manufacturing and establishing a replicable smart production model.

In supply chain development, Honeywell continues to drive digital and green transformation through technological innovation, while scaling Tianjin-based practices globally. The smart building energy management system deployed at the Tianjin facility has reduced electricity consumption by approximately 122,800 kWh, a 5% decrease, equivalent to about 86 tons of carbon emissions.

The company’s Sustainable Digital Innovation Center is focused on transforming local innovations in low-carbon technologies and circular economy practices into global competitive advantages, supporting broader green industrial transformation.

By strengthening localization, enhancing its innovation hub, and building a more collaborative industrial ecosystem, Honeywell is improving supply chain resilience and responsiveness to customer needs. Looking ahead, the company will continue to increase investment in Tianjin, strengthening local R&D in process automation, energy management, and digital carbon asset solutions, and developing industrial software and intelligent control systems tailored to the Chinese market.

At the same time, Honeywell plans to deepen joint innovation with strategic partners in digital transformation and new energy sectors, while actively collaborating with local universities, research institutions, and enterprises to build an open innovation ecosystem. Through intelligent upgrades and flexible production line optimization, the company aims to further improve efficiency, operational flexibility, and sustainable manufacturing performance.
