8. What are the functions of the disconnect switch and STO on the ATV650D90N4E?
The integrated disconnect switch provides a means of electrical isolation for maintenance and servicing. The STO (Safe Torque Off) function prevents the motor from generating driving torque when the safety circuit is activated and provides SIL 3 capability. STO can be used in safety interlocks and emergency-stop-related applications, but it should not be considered a substitute for complete electrical isolation. Before maintenance or wiring work, the drive must still be properly disconnected, isolated and checked for the absence of hazardous voltage.
